- Description: The study brief, published Oct. 7, has powerful data but unfortunately the way it is written aligns with gender conservative animus- additional context shows that alignment is deliberate.

### The study brief uses the Cass review in its literature review and argues for "comprehensive diagnostics" to limit transsexual medicine rather than push for our bodily autonomy. It is also written by a member of SEGM- the anti-trans hate group.

As previously [reported on](https://theneedlenews.com/academia-slaying-trans-youth-given-hrt-stay-on-hrt-statistically-speaking-2025-10-26/) The Needle, on Oct. 7, an open access scientific brief was published in [*Acta Paediatrica*](https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/16512227?ref=theneedlenews.com) \- a top ranked international pediatric medicine journal - concerning trans youth and their attempts to transition.

However, newly gathered context shines a new light on the journal publication. The study's lead author, [Andre Leonhardt,](https://www.transgendermap.com/issues/psychology/andre-leonhardt/?ref=theneedlenews.com) is a member of SEGM- the hate-group that massquerades as scientific and pushes for limiting and reducing transition- also known as transmedicalism.

With this context, the seeming bias The Needle previously covered can be upgraded to a confirmed bias. This is because study's primary author is a known member of an anti-trans hategroup.

What this means is that even long-term studies done by anti-trans academics struggle to fully disprove the benefits of transsexual medicine unless they falsify or ignore their own data.
