Kansas is preparing to enforce a law that invalidates the driver’s license of anyone who has changed their gender marker on that document, echoing historic policies that targeted “other” groups by revoking their identification.

Now that the skeleton, or the framework for the operation is in place, the work turns to getting and giving funds and labor.

The resolution was defeated 23-3, with 17 countries abstaining and one not voting. The only countries who voted alongside the US were Pakistan and Chile.
