US house votes to ban youth HRT, potentially dooming thousands of kids to early deaths

Tonight, the United States House voted for Marjorie Taylor Greene’s bill to ban trans healthcare for anyone under 18.
The bill makes it a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison to provide anyone under 18 with any form of trans healthcare. This applies to doctors, parents, or anyone else providing this care.
If passed into law, it will potentially lead to the deaths of thousands of children, as they will be denied the medicine they need to live dignified lives.
The bill passed 216 to 210, with three Democrats voting with Republicans for the ban, and four Republicans voting with the Democrats against it. The three Democrats were Henry Cuellar (TX), Don Davis (NC), and Vicente Gonzalez (TX).
This is the most consequential piece of anti-trans legislation in the 21st century. If made into law, it would codify the worst of the discrimination against trans people, and write us out us out of legal recognition.

The Needle - NewsArtemis T. DouglasThe once saving grace is that the Senate is so incapable of passing legislation that it might not be able to pass this bill. The Republicans have a wide majority there, but not enough to overcome a potential filibuster against it. For once our vetocracy of a legislature could come in handy.
This is what happened to the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. It similarly passed through the house earlier this year, but was never brought to a vote in the Senate because its supporters knew it could not reach the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.
I hope this is what will happen here.
